We fill a niche not covered by other nonprofits advocating for research into “Long X” syndromes (like ME, POTS, and chronic Long COVID) by focusing on the critical role of the autonomic nervous system.

Millions worldwide are affected by symptoms related to autonomic dysfunction. Current medical research focuses on immunological and cardiovascular interventions, many of which aren’t effective. By connecting recent advances in neuroscience to these medical conditions, Ansyme is opening new avenues for the understanding and treatment of symptoms.

Ansyme is a nonprofit that connects cellular neuroscience to systemic medicine, with a focus on the autonomic nervous system.

The science behind what we do

Neural control circuits have been identified for a handful of the 200+ symptoms that characterize “Long X” syndromes. Our work will promote research to identify more of these neurological mechanisms and lead to new ways to treat them. In the long run, these results could apply to other medical conditions, such as chronic Lyme, pain, migraine, irritable bowel, itch, and even cancer.

Ansyme is a patient-led, volunteer-based 501(c)3 U.S. nonprofit organization (EIN: 39-4247219). We fundraise with Zeffy to ensure 100% of your donation goes to our mission.
